A funeral service for Dorothy Myers will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home, 328 S. Ingraham Ave., Lakeland, Florida.  Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. and there will be a reception following the service.

Interment will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 10:15 a.m.

Plan to come as we rejoice in and give thanks for the life of one of the matriarchs of our community of faith.  Your support and care will mean a great deal to their families.


Dorothy Myers Obituary

Dorothy (Dottie) Marie Evers was born in West Point, GA to Regina E (Spaeth) and John Ross Evers. She grew up in Plant City, FL before she joined the United States Air Force and became a loadmaster and stewardess. There she met her husband, Charles S Myers, who was a pilot. Dottie and Chuck traveled the world while he served. She enjoyed hosting family and friends, bowling, and serving her community and her Lutheran Church, no matter where that may have been. Dottie and Chuck settled down in Bartow, FL.

Dottie passed away in her residence surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the age of 88. Dottie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Dombroski (husband Thomas) and Vanessa Howard, son-in-law Jay Antrobus, granddaughter Dana Thomasson (husband Austin), and her siblings Ross Evers, Paula Brogan, and Thelma Sherling. Dottie was preceded by her husband, LTC (USAF) Charles S Myers, her daughter Teresa Myers-Antrobus, and siblings Ida Warren, Helen Jarvis, and Thomas Evers.

Dottie’s visitation will be held Tuesday,May 28, 2024  at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home Lakeland, FL with service starting at 12:00 p.m., reception to follow. Interment ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell where she will be given full military honors. Dottie will be greatly missed but all memories cherished.
