This month collection is for the Resurrection House Mission of the ELCA and help them to help others in need. The need is greater now than has been in the past. The group has been helping the community for over 40 years with no paid staff the Pastor Rev. Bruce Edwards serves and has services outside with the congregation of about 70 families.

They operate a food bank that serves the community at large, not only Hispanics, but all who have a need. They support about 80+ families and another 44 elderly plus the day care their families and meals on wheel another combines 22 families.

The group also has a Thrift store, so gently used clothing and shoes are appreciated.

A long-range project is a Pre-K program where children can come from age 1 to 4.....Now when we began the programs we were told all children would be paid by the government, but we found that only up to 4 years old. , so we began a scholarship fund to help pay the pay the tuition of those who cannot pay. This program was started because we are seeing many young people fail once they get to middle and high school...now our thought was that if we could begin their education before they get to first grade, they would have a much better chance...so we began a Pre-K.

Other programs include a sewing group made up of young girls making quilts and face masks and other projects to name a few.

Between services they allow NA and AA to meet on a regularly bases so they can help others.

With the help of food and supplies and a lot of volunteers a lot of good is being done, but they need money to pay the electric and water.
